The global welding technology extravaganza: The 2024 China International Welding Industry Exhibition is full of highlights

The 25th China International Welding Industry Exhibition (WeldTech China 2024) grandly opened at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) recently. As the most influential welding industry event in Asia, this exhibition has gathered over 500 exhibitors from more than 30 countries around the world, focusing on cutting-edge welding technologies such as friction welding machines, spot welding machines, butt welding machines, seam welding machines, steel ring laser welding machines and stud welding machines, providing innovative solutions for the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry.

Friction Welding Machine: A green and efficient solid-phase connection technology
The inertial friction welding machine exhibited by leading domestic enterprises has become the focus. With a maximum welding diameter of 150mm, it can be applied to the manufacturing of high-end components such as aero engine rotors. The German has launched servo-driven friction welding equipment, reducing energy consumption by 20% and meeting the efficient production requirements of motor shafts for new energy vehicles.

Spot welding and seam welding: Powerful tools for thin plate processing
In the automotive manufacturing exhibition area, the intelligent spot welding workstation can achieve an ultra-high-speed operation of 3 weld points per second for 0.8mm galvanized steel plates. The variable-frequency Seam Welding Machine, with its closed-loop temperature control system, provides zero-leakage welds for battery casings, attracting on-site negotiations from enterprises such as CATL.

Butt welding technology: The core guarantee of pipeline engineering
The oil equipment giant showcased a large-diameter pipeline butt welding system with a diameter of Φ1420mm, equipped with AI weld seam tracking technology, which has been successfully applied to the China-Russia Eastern Gas Pipeline project. At the exhibition stand, a real-scene demonstration of flash butt welding of Φ60mm stainless steel pipe fittings was also conducted.

Steel ring Laser Welding Machine: A new benchmark for precision manufacturing
The newly launched pulse laser welding machine specifically designed for bearing steel rings has a welding accuracy of ±0.02mm and a heat-affected zone of less than 0.5mm, solving the problem of quenching deformation of high-carbon steel rings. The coaxial vision positioning system in Japan can automatically correct deviation within 0.1 seconds.

Stud Welding Machine: An efficiency revolution in the construction and shipbuilding fields
The newly developed energy storage stud welding machine can complete the welding of M6-M24 specifications in one go, with an efficiency five times higher than that of traditional processes. It has been purchased in bulk by Jiangnan Shipyard. The exhibition area specially sets up a simulated welding experience zone for ship decks, where visitors can operate it themselves.

The secretary-general of the China Welding Association said at the opening ceremony: "From the Shenzhou spacecraft to the Baihetan Hydropower Station, China's welding technology is making a leap from following to leading." The intelligent and precise trends presented at this exhibition will inject strong impetus into the new industrialization.
