Product Description

   Friction welding, a high-efficiency and high-quality press welding technology, operates on the principle of converting mechanical energy into thermal energy. Specifically, it utilizes the frictional heat generated by the high-speed rotation of workpieces to bring the end faces of the drill rods into a thermoplastic state. At this critical stage, the equipment applies a rapid and precise upsetting force to achieve metallurgical bonding between the workpieces. This welding method effectively avoids defects such as porosity, cracks, and incomplete fusion that are common in traditional welding processes, ensuring exceptional weld strength—even reaching or exceeding the base material's performance. It is widely recognized as a reliable welding solution in the drill rod manufacturing industry.
   The whole equipment system is scientifically composed of core and auxiliary components, including the main machine, hydraulic system, cooling system, electrical control system, parameter monitoring system, and an optional 2-axis CNC tool post. Each component works in perfect coordination to ensure stable, efficient, and precise welding operations.
   Our 80-125 ton drill rod friction welding equipment,To cater to the diverse production needs of different customers, we offer two operation modes: automatic loading and unloading machines and manual operation machines.

Main Advantages

 

  1. 8 Sets of High-Quality Angular Contact Bearings: We adopt 8 sets of top-grade angular contact bearings in the main transmission system. These bearings feature excellent radial and axial load-bearing capacity, high rotation accuracy, and strong wear resistance. They can stably support the high-speed rotating spindle during long-term operation, effectively reducing vibration and ensuring the concentricity of the workpiece rotation. This not only improves the welding quality but also extends the service life of the main machine, reducing maintenance costs for customers.
  2. Tin Bronze-Lined Movable Fixture: The clamping surface of the movable fixture is inlaid with high-quality tin bronze. Tin bronze boasts superior wear resistance, good lubricity, and high hardness. When clamping the drill rod, it can not only provide a firm and reliable clamping force to prevent the workpiece from slipping during rotation and upsetting but also avoid scratches and damage to the surface of the drill rod. This design ensures the integrity of the workpiece's appearance while maintaining stable clamping performance, which is crucial for ensuring welding accuracy.
  3. Oil-Free Bearing Guidance for Piston Rod Guide Sleeve: The guide sleeve of the piston rod is equipped with high-performance oil-free bearings. Compared with traditional oil-lubricated bearings, oil-free bearings eliminate the need for regular lubrication, reducing maintenance workload and avoiding oil pollution to the workpiece and the production environment. Meanwhile, these bearings have excellent guiding accuracy and low friction coefficient, ensuring smooth and precise movement of the piston rod during the upsetting process, thus guaranteeing the stability of the welding pressure.
  4. Double Guidance Groove Rail for Linear Slide Rail: The linear slide rail of the equipment adopts a double guidance groove rail structure. This design significantly enhances the load-bearing capacity and stability of the slide rail, ensuring that the movable parts move linearly with high precision even under heavy loads. The double guidance structure also effectively reduces the impact of external forces on the movement accuracy, making the equipment run more stably during long-term continuous operation. It lays a solid foundation for the precise positioning of the workpiece and the accurate implementation of the welding process.
